Gianna Gifford

Gianna Gifford has a comprehensive work experience in the library and education field. Gianna worked at the Boston Public Library as the Chief of Adult Library Services, where they began in March 2016. Before that, they worked as the Manager of Reference & Instruction Services from April 2012 to March 2016. Prior to their time at the Boston Public Library, they worked at Simmons College as a Research Services Librarian from July 2000 to March 2012. During their tenure at Simmons College, they also served as a Career Resources Librarian, running a small branch library specializing in career materials and conducting workshops on using online career resources. Additionally, they were the Media Library Assistant, responsible for managing the film, video, and DVD collections and consulting with faculty on integrating multimedia into their courses. Gifford also has experience with the Masachusetts Library Association, where they served as the Conference Co-Chair for 10 years, overseeing all aspects of the annual conference planning and logistics.

Gianna Gifford's education history begins in 1988 when they attended Mount Holyoke College, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and Religion. Gianna then pursued further studies at Simmons University from 1993 to 1995, earning a Master of Arts degree in Gender/Cultural Studies. Later, Gianna returned to Simmons University from 1996 to 1998 to obtain a Master of Science in Library and Information Science.
