Head, Training-2D & Roto-Prep Supervisor at BOT VFX

Sankara Subramanian heads up BOT’s 2D Training department in Coimbatore, leveraging his strong mentoring and team building skills in the establishment of roto and paint training at BOT Academy. His career at BOT VFX began in 2009 as the company’s first 2D Supervisor.

Sankara’s experience spans 14+ years and multiple VFX disciplines, including compositing, roto, paint, prep, and digital matte painting. His approach to VFX artistry balances the creative and technical, with a keen eye for detail, always exploring the boundaries of creative visualization.

As one of the earliest artists at BOT, he supervised the company’s work on Invictus, BOT’s breakout success in VFX for feature films. Since then, he has brought his leadership strength to numerous shows: episodics that include Stranger Things, The Orville, The Get Down, and A Series of Unfortunate Events, and tentpole films such as Justice League, The Martian, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, Jurassic World, In the Heart of the Sea, Godzilla, Captain America: Civil War and numerous other Marvel / Disney titles.
