Klajd Lika

CEO & Co-Founder at Bota Systems

Klajd Lika is the CEO and co-founder of Bota Systems. Klajd has over ten years of experience in hardware development, embedded systems, and industrial design. Klajd holds a degree in mechanical engineering from NTUA.

Klajd Lika started their career as a mechanical design engineer at Bota Systems AG, where they worked on the hardware development of robotic systems and hydraulic actuation systems. Klajd also worked on the development of embedded systems and the industrial design of long stereo vision cameras for harsh environments.

In November 2013, Klajd Lika left Bota Systems AG to join NTUA as a research associate. At NTUA, they worked on the hardware development of a hydraulically actuated hexapod legged locomotion system for subsea trenching and exploration. Klajd also worked on the development of force/torque sensors for quadrupedal robots, and on the hardware development of a low-cost experimental setup for impact on smart sandwich composite plates with piezoelectric transducers. In addition, Klajd Lika developed precision load cells, signal conditioners, and data acquisition systems, and designed PCBs for high sampling rate precision DAQ systems and communication interfaces.

In November 2016, Klajd Lika left NTUA to co-found Bota Systems with fellow NTUA alumni Michael Karamanoglu and Argyris Tserepoulos. Bota Systems is a hardware startup that is developing a new generation of smart robotic devices for use in harsh environments.

Klajd Lika has a Diplomate Engineer degree in Mechanical Engineering - Aeronautics Discipline from National Technical University of Athens. Klajd also has a certification from Venturelab in Innosuisse Business Growth Advanced Engineering.

Some direct reports include Martin Wermelinger - Head of Robotics, Ilias Patsiaouras - CTO & Co-Founder.
