William Wenhan Zhang has a diverse work experience spanning across different roles and industries. William Wenhan is currently serving as the VP, Head of Engineering at Boundless Immigration, where they lead a team to provide immigrants with the necessary tools, information, and support for their immigration journey. Prior to this, they were a member of the New York CTO Club, an invitation-only group of senior technologists, where they shared ideas and expertise with fellow members.
William also has experience as a Co-Founder, CTO, and Board Member at HelloAva Inc, a beauty personalization startup. In this role, they developed the technical aspects of the company's strategy to align with its business goals. William Wenhan also served as the Chief Product and Technology Officer at Alfred, a consumer brand in the residential sector, where they led multiple teams responsible for product management, engineering, user experience, product marketing, data, security, and corporate IT.
Prior to their entrepreneurial ventures, William worked at reputable companies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Goldman Sachs. At AWS, they served as an engineering leader for the AWS Insights team, overseeing the development of financial management products and leading the site expansion. At Goldman Sachs, they were a Senior Engineer, responsible for developing internal workflow tools and enhancing the trading platform for equity trading desks.
William also gained experience at Credit Suisse, where they worked as an Associate and led a team in designing and developing an auditing strategy. William Wenhan collaborated with the business side to address client needs and built valuation models by analyzing millions of trades. Additionally, they worked as a Software Development Engineer at Microsoft, focusing on performance analysis and resolving issues in adCenter.
Prior to their professional career, William had a teaching assistant role at Columbia Engineering.
William Wenhan Zhang holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from Columbia University and Columbia Engineering. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. In terms of certifications, Zhang is a Certified Scrum Product Owner from the Scrum Alliance, obtained in August 2018, and a Certified ScrumMaster, obtained in January 2019.
