Dr. Karsten MacHholz

Dr. Karsten Machholz is a distinguished academic and professional in the fields of Supply Chain Management and Strategic Procurement, currently serving as a Professor at Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften Würzburg-Schweinfurt since 2012. With a focus on digitalization of global value chains, real-time risk management, corporate social responsibility, and blockchain technology, Dr. Machholz leads initiatives as Chairman of the Customer Advisory Board at akirolabs and as a Member of the Supervisory Board at XMED iQ. Additionally, Dr. Machholz holds significant roles such as Chairman and Scientific Advisor of the Procurement 2024 Conference at Bousias and Leadership and Team Coach at Ihr Coaching Institut. As the CEO and Founder of CPO Consulting, Dr. Machholz provides consultancy services and insights on digital supply chains while also contributing to research and training in procurement through Digital Procurement and Supply Networks Research and Training. Previous experience includes high-level positions at BioPartners, Inc. and Boehringer Ingelheim, along with a rich educational background culminating in a Doctorate in Chemistry from The University of Göttingen.
