Chief Data Scientist / Fagsjef Data Science at Bouvet

Halvor Grønaas has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Halvor started their career as a Summer Intern at WesternGeco in 2002. Halvor then worked as a Bioinformatician and Statistician at the University Hospital of North-Norway from 2004 to 2007. Afterwards, they joined Schlumberger, where they held positions as a Project Engineer from 2007 to 2010 and as a Senior Engineer from 2010 to 2018. In their current role, they are the Chief Data Scientist and Fagsjef Data Science at Bouvet ASA since 2018. In this position, they are responsible for developing the Platform, Insight, and Analysis department, as well as consulting for key projects. Their consulting work includes developing systems for congestion management in the power grid, fleet management of rolling stock, and providing speed advice in road infrastructure.

Halvor Grønaas completed their M.Sc in Industrial Mathematics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 1996 to 2002. Halvor also studied Optoelectronics, Informatics, and Pattern recognition at RWTH Aachen University from 2000 to 2001. In 2007 and 2017, they studied at UiO and NTNU without completing a specific degree. In 2014, they pursued further education at Udacity. In 2019 and 2020, they attended Bouvet Architect school. Additionally, they obtained certifications such as Scrum Master Certified (SMC) from AgileLeanHouse A/S in 2018 and Artificial Intelligence for Robotics (CS373 Stanford) from Udacity in 2014. Halvor also holds certifications in Design of Everything Things and Change Management Practitioner.
