Position Summary
The Business Development Officer – Work Integrated Learning (WIL) reports to the Manager of Employer Relations. In this role, the main responsibility is to meet Bow Valley College's Work Integrated Learning targets and goals. This involves identifying, developing, maintaining, and expanding relationships with various industries and employers to secure experiential learning opportunities for Bow Valley College students.
All of these efforts align with Bow Valley College's strategic plan pillars and our commitment to ensure every student participates in a work integrated learning experience.
Position responsibilities and accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Required qualifications:
Post-secondary Diploma.
Minimum of 3 years of related experience working with industry and community partners in Business Development and Work Integrated Learning.
Strong knowledge of the Health and Wellness industry, along with a robust network of contacts in the public and private health sectors.
Ability to strategize and plan multiple high-priority deliverables with competing demands.
In-depth understanding of the industries/marketplaces aligned with Bow Valley College programs.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Dynamics 365, Orbis, Power BI, Eventbrite among others.
An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered.
Fluency (reading, writing, and speaking) in the language(s) other than English.
In-depth understanding of how complex relationships and interests of various stakeholders intersect and influence each other.
Experience effectively engaging with culturally diverse stakeholders.
Ability to identify and leverage strategically and/or tactically valuable opportunities.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
Ability to problem solve through critical thinking.
Corporate communications experience.
Ability to travel.
Valid passport and ability to obtain international or business visas without restriction.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
