Haideh Farahmand

Instructor, Supply Chain Management Major at BOW VALLEY COLLEGE

Haideh Farahmand is an instructor for the new Supply Chain Management major. She has been an instructor at the Chiu School of Business since Jan 2017 teaching Business Strategy, Project Management, Organizational Behaviour, Supply Chain Management, and Operations Management. She holds a Master of Science degree in Project Management from Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary and is a licensed Professional Engineer.

Haideh has more than 20 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry. She was Manager for Integration, Operational Excellence at Suncor Energy, and Operational Excellence Principle at Spectra Energy. Haideh worked in various Project Management and Project Engineering roles at Petro-Canada and Fluor Canada. She also worked as Program Manager for Engineers in Training (EITs) at Suncor Energy, Major Projects; and was a member of Suncor’s Talent Council.

Haideh was recognized as a finalist in Suncor’s President Operational Excellence Award in 2012, and in 2013 for her contribution in improvement of EITs program and development of gap closure plan for implementation of Operational Excellence at Suncor Energy.

Haideh is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) at Athabasca University. Her research interests are team effectiveness towards competitive advantage and a resource based view of organizations.
