Kristy Calles

Instructor, Business Administration at BOW VALLEY COLLEGE

Kristy Calles joined the Chiu School of Business in 2012 and is the lead course instructor for Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainable Development, International Business and Culture, and Tourism. Kristy has been a faculty advisor for Alberta Deans of Business Case Competition since 2019.

Before working with the Chiu School of Business, Kristy spent 10 years in the tourism industry in several different roles, from agent to human resources to management. One of her previous and most significant contracts was with the Canadian Armed Forces. As such, she has traveled extensively, working with the military and agencies that supported their global operations.

Kristy is exceptionally passionate about sustainable development initiatives directly aimed at benefitting the bottom of the pyramid. She works to change business thinking from profit-driven to profit-driving with a societal and environmental focus. In today’s continually evolving business environment, Kristy works to instill curiosity within her student base and a desire to question the status quo.

Kristy is a strong advocate of lifelong learning and is presently working on her Master of Business Administration, majoring in executive management with a focus on leadership.
