Sungfu has worked at Bow Valley College since 2012. He was Chair of the Early Childhood Education and Development Program in 2020-2022. Before coming to Canada in 2007, he was a high school English teacher and sessional instructor at universities in Taiwan. He holds an M.A. in English from Providence University, and a PhD in English from the University of Calgary. His research interests include postcolonial theory and literature, East Asian studies, film studies, and Chinese North American literature. He specializes in postcolonial theories, particularly those by Homi Bhabha and Gayatri Spivak. Sungfu is passionate about online teaching and learning. At Bow Valley College our business is adult education. We provide programs designed to help students build their skills through academic foundations, careers programs that last less than a year in Health, Business and Industry, and English as a Second Language training.
