Michelle Ruffin

Michelle Ruffin is the current Director of Safety, Compliance & Prevention at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City. Michelle has over 10 years of experience in the social services field, with a focus on youth development and program management.

Michelle Ruffin began their career in 2009 as a Program Director at the YMCA of Greater Kansas City. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the operations of the Youth Development Services programs, including after-school care, summer camp, and other enrichment programs. Michelle also oversaw a team of program staff and developed relationships with local schools and community organizations.

In 2015, Michelle Ruffin transitioned to Local Investment Commission (LINC), where they served as Program Supervisor for the Missouri Work Assistance Program Initiative. In this role, they assisted with oversight and operations management for Jackson, Platte, and Clay counties. Michelle supervised a team of approximately 40 full-time staff members, oversaw a team of 9 Outreach Case Managers, and led the Transitional Employee Program Team. Michelle also managed compliance for the program and fostered relationships with local non-profit organizations to create additional resources for participants.

Michelle Ruffin has extensive knowledge of the Missouri Work Assistance Program and Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act Policy. Michelle is passionate about helping others and making a positive impact in their community.

Michelle Ruffin has a Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs from Morningside University, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Buena Vista University.
