Sheyla

Sheyla Uzquiano Ma is an experienced education and program development professional currently serving as the Director of the Career Pathways Program at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula since January 2023. Previously, Sheyla held the position of National Program Associate at Defy Ventures, where notable achievements included redesigning training sessions and enhancing participant engagement. As Program Director at Spark Program, Sheyla successfully coordinated the recruitment of students and launched a virtual after-school initiative. Earlier roles involved working at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula as a High School Success Advisor, AJ Tutoring as Foreign Language Department Head, and various positions at Embassy English and City Year, demonstrating strong leadership and program management skills. Sheyla holds a Master's degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from Loyola Marymount University and a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science from the University of California, Irvine.
