Amy Chavez has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Amy started their career as a GreenBiz Cupertino Program Associate at the City of Cupertino in 2012, where they implemented environmentally beneficial measures and researched EV Readiness policies. Amy then worked as a Greening Operations Associate at Building Sustainability @ Cal, auditing waste streams, upgrading buildings for energy efficiency, and facilitating zero-waste events.
In 2013, Amy joined Strategic Energy Innovations as a Climate Corps Bay Area Fellow, where they gained professional skills in the climate protection field and implemented residential energy efficiency projects. Amy also worked at Acterra as part of the Green@Home Program, leading community outreach initiatives and managing residential energy efficiency programs.
Amy's next role was with the Alliance to Save Energy as a Green Campus Intern, where they conducted campus energy analyses, generated energy-saving recommendations, and designed marketing materials to promote energy savings. Amy then joined the organization, Green Pro Network, as an Event Specialist, where they educated property owners about energy programs and assisted at community workshops.
From 2015 onwards, Amy worked with Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada, starting as a Super Troops Program Coordinator, where they led badge work activity lessons and assisted with recruitment. Amy then progressed to become a Data Services Coordinator, responsible for data entry and handling correspondence. Amy later became a Project Management Specialist, collaborating with stakeholders to create project plans and achieve operational deliverables. Their final role at the organization was as the Director of Service Delivery & Project Management, overseeing business services staff and leading customer service efforts.
Most recently, Amy joined Boys & Girls Clubs of America as a Client Support Specialist in 2022.
Amy Chavez attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2009 to 2013. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Conservation and Resource Studies.
