Asim Barnes has worked in various roles throughout their career. Asim started their work experience at the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, where they served as a Tutor and Counselor. After that, they joined the New Rochelle YMCA as an ELA Teacher and Tutor in 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Musician for the black rock coalition from 2007 to 2016. Additionally, they worked at the GO Project as a Substitute Teacher and Tutor from September 2013 to April 2014. In this role, they taught students grades 3rd-8th in various subjects and provided support to primary teachers in lesson execution and student supervision. Asim also worked closely with students who were academically struggling to create a supportive and encouraging academic environment for them.
