Ed Mishrell has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Ed began their career in 1988 with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, where they held various leadership positions such as Senior Director Training, Vice President Program Services, and Vice President Training. In 2000, Ed joined BGCA as a Vice President and later transitioned to become the Senior Vice President of Planning and Measurement in 2010. In 2018, they expanded their professional portfolio by working as an Adjunct Professor at Georgia State University's Andrew Young School of Policy Studies and Georgia State University. Currently, Ed is self-employed, utilizing their expertise as an author, consultant, and leadership speaker.

Ed Mishrell earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Liberal Arts from Alfred University, where they studied from 1969 to 1973. Ed then pursued a Master of Education (MEd.) degree in Education at Elmira College, completing their studies from 1974 to 1977. Later, from 1977 to 1979, Ed attended Temple University, earning a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in Social Work Administration.
