Lead Director Of Organizational Development at Boys & Girls Clubs of America

Mia Woods has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Mia currently holds the position of Director of Organizational Development at Boys & Girls Clubs of America since February 2022. Prior to this, from January 2019 to February 2022, they served as the Chief Operating Officer at Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Virginia. Mia also held the role of CEO and Executive Director at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Illinois from December 2016 to February 2019.

Mia's earlier experiences include working as the Director of Operations at Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Illinois from August 2014 to January 2017. Before that, they were the Shelter Director at Contact Ministries, a homeless shelter for women and children, from April 2011 to September 2014.

Mia began their career as a Research Assistant at Southern Illinois University, where they worked on tissue engineering research projects and was involved in data collection and analysis. Their research work included writing and submitting manuscripts for publication and grants. Mia held this position from an unspecified start date in 2010 until an unspecified end date in 2013.

Mia Woods attended the University of Virginia from 2001 to 2005, where they received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. Mia then pursued further education at Hampton University, completing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biology from 2006 to 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Mia Woods has obtained several certifications. In March 2023, they received a Diversity Equity and Inclusion Certificate from the American Management Association. Mia also obtained an Organizational Development Certificate from Linkage, Inc. in May 2022. Furthermore, they completed a Strategic Visioning Certification from The Grove Consultants International in March 2022.
