Josh Towey has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Josh began their professional career as a Juvenile Corrections Officer at the Southwest Iowa Juvenile Detention Center in 2001. In the same year, they also worked as a Youth Counselor at Children's Square USA.
From 2002 to 2007, Josh served as a Program Director at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands, where they were responsible for managing and directing various programs. In 2008, they were promoted to the role of Unit Director, overseeing the operations of multiple Boys & Girls Clubs locations.
In 2017, Josh became the Senior Grants Director at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands, and their role involved managing and acquiring grants for the organization. Currently, they serve as the Operations Director, where they lead and manages all operations of 14 Boys & Girls Clubs locations. This includes employee management, community relationships, financial well-being, and facility management. Additionally, Josh is responsible for recruiting, training, and developing BGCM staff.
Josh Towey obtained a Master's degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections from the University of Nebraska at Omaha from 2003 to 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Counseling Psychology from Wayne State College from 1997 to 2000. In addition to their degrees, Josh also holds various certifications including the Raisers Edge Donor Management Software Certification from Blackbaud obtained in August 2018, the Certified Pool Operator Certificate from the National Swimming Pool Foundation obtained in March 2014, the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Strategies Certification from Children's Square USA obtained in October 2001, and the Therapeutic Crisis Management (TCM) Certification from Boys & Girls Homes obtained in August 2000.
