Janet Kneller

Janet Kneller has a diverse work experience, starting in 1988 as a Programmer/Analyst at the Systems Development Branch of the Met Office. Janet then moved on to become an IT Support and Trainer for forecasting staff at remote locations. In 1998, they became an IT Officer at the Met Office College, where they provided technical support and development of the training network. Janet also worked as a Desktop Training Coordinator at the Met Office College, responsible for the provision of desktop training courses.

In 2003, Janet joined the Met Office as an IT Training Programme Manager, where they managed and developed the corporate IT Training Programme. Janet researched potential training suppliers and designed and delivered specialist IT training. Janet also served as a Senior Business Analyst, working on complex projects across the organization and collaborating with stakeholders to elicit and evaluate changing requirements.

Janet's work experience also includes roles at the University of Plymouth, where they completed a PhD part-time while working four days a week. Janet successfully managed the balancing act between academic demands, employment, and caring responsibilities.

In 2019, Janet took on multiple roles simultaneously. Janet worked as a Business Analyst at the University of Exeter, leading a small project team in delivering automation of key student-facing processes. Janet also served as a Director at Jubilee Analysis Limited. In 2020, Janet joined Brain in Hand as a Business Analyst.

Throughout their career, Janet has demonstrated strong analytical and communication skills, working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Janet has experience in project management, process improvement, and training program development.

Janet Kneller completed their education at various institutions over the years. Janet'searliest degree was a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Science, which they obtained from Lancaster University from 1985 to 1988.

Janet later pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Computing with a focus on IT Security modules at the University of Plymouth, completing their degree from 2004 to 2007.

Janet continued their education at the University of Plymouth and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from 2007 to 2016. Janet'sdoctoral research was titled "Multiple Stakeholder Perspectives of Complex Online Services: an e-government case study".

In addition to their academic qualifications, Janet also holds several certifications to further develop their skills. Janet obtained the BCS Professional Certificate in Stakeholder Engagement from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in September 2020. In January 2020, they completed the Foundation Certificate in User Experience from the same institution.

Janet's other certifications include the ITIL Foundation Certificate obtained in January 2019 from AXELOS Global Best Practice, the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification from the University of Bedfordshire in October 2018, and the BCS Professional Certificate in Agile Business Analysis from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in 2015.

Janet also holds the ISEB Intermediate Certificate in Enterprise and Solution Architecture, which they obtained from INFORMATION SYSTEMS EXAMINATIONS BOARD LIMITED in April 2013. Additionally, Janet earned the ISEB Certificate in Benefits Management and Business Acceptance from the same institution in July 2011.

Janet's earlier certifications include the BCS/ISEB International Diploma in Business Analysis obtained in March 2009 from INFORMATION SYSTEMS EXAMINATIONS BOARD LIMITED, and the Chartered IT Professional (MBCS CITP) designation received from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in June 2006.

Furthermore, they hold the certification of Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor from Microsoft, obtained in September 2005. Janet also completed the NVQ Level4 Training Development (Learning Development) including Assessor Units from CITY AND GUILDS INTERNATIONAL LIMITED (INCORPORATED IN THE UNITED KINGDOM) in March 2003.

Lastly, Janet obtained the DBS Enhanced Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) in April 2019.
