Janet Kneller has a diverse work experience, starting in 1988 as a Programmer/Analyst at the Systems Development Branch of the Met Office. Janet then moved on to become an IT Support and Trainer for forecasting staff at remote locations. In 1998, they became an IT Officer at the Met Office College, where they provided technical support and development of the training network. Janet also worked as a Desktop Training Coordinator at the Met Office College, responsible for the provision of desktop training courses.
In 2003, Janet joined the Met Office as an IT Training Programme Manager, where they managed and developed the corporate IT Training Programme. Janet researched potential training suppliers and designed and delivered specialist IT training. Janet also served as a Senior Business Analyst, working on complex projects across the organization and collaborating with stakeholders to elicit and evaluate changing requirements.
Janet's work experience also includes roles at the University of Plymouth, where they completed a PhD part-time while working four days a week. Janet successfully managed the balancing act between academic demands, employment, and caring responsibilities.
In 2019, Janet took on multiple roles simultaneously. Janet worked as a Business Analyst at the University of Exeter, leading a small project team in delivering automation of key student-facing processes.
