Roger van der Spek has a long and varied work experience. Roger began their career in 1998 as a Business Analyst at EY, then moved to RGP Netherlands in 2003 as a Client Services Manager. In 2006, they were appointed Co-Managing Director of RGP Asia Pacific, where they were responsible for post-merger integration, strategic re-orientation, harmonization of operations, setting up HR and Talent Acquisition functions, business development, sales and client/project management of RGP's services, and consulting/leading various international client projects. In 2014, they became an Entrepreneur at TheDivingGuide.com, where they ideated, created and ran an online scuba diving travel platform. In 2019, they were appointed Director of ECommerce at SpeedComfort, where they were responsible for analysis, market research, go-to-market strategy, setting up online sales channels, fulfilment, building a distributor network, marketing and PR, budgeting, working capital, and compliance. In 2020, they became Managing Director at Braingineers, where they operate at the junction of tech, psychology, and digital marketing to detect users' emotions and behavior in digital journeys to help clients optimize their online customer experience.
Roger van der Spek obtained their Bachelor of Commerce - BCom from the De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences between 1993 and 1997, with a field of study in International Business/Trade/Commerce. Roger then went on to obtain a Master of Business Administration - MBA from the Loyola University Maryland Sellinger School of Business and Management between 1997 and 1998. Finally, they obtained another Master of Business Administration - MBA from the University of Portsmouth between 1997 and 2000. In addition, Roger van der Spek also obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB) from the Lean Consultancy Group in September 2015, as well as an MBA from the University of Portsmouth in September 2000.
