Liz Vernon has a diverse range of work experience in the field of design.

Liz currently works as a Product Designer at BrainPOP, where they collaborate with cross-functional teams to create user-friendly and effective learning experiences for the BrainPOP Science product. Liz is currently involved in launching a new feature.

Prior to their role at BrainPOP, Liz worked as a Product Designer at BEGiN, where they improved user experiences across multiple platforms and conducted design system research.

Liz also has experience as a Digital Designer at The American Museum of Natural History, where they led growth initiatives for online learning platforms and designed various engaging content for children's science websites and apps.

Liz served as the Design Director at Good Energy Collective, designing and launching a non-profit website and developing a visual style design system.

Liz also worked as a UX Design Lead at Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences- University of Michigan, where they built and tested data visualization tools and developed prototypes for a nuclear reactor site surveying web platform.

In addition, they participated in the CivicXcel Incubator program at Civic Hall Labs, where their team worked on developing a transit app.

Liz was also a Co-Founder and UX Design Lead at DollarVan.nyc, a startup aimed at improving access to affordable commuter van services in NYC.

Earlier in their career, they worked as a Senior Graphic Designer at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, where they led website redesigns and created visual identities for various print collateral.

Lastly, Liz gained experience as a Production Designer at FSView & Florida Flambeau, where they redesigned newspaper layouts and trained new employees.

Overall, Liz's work experience showcases their expertise in product design, user experience, web and app design, and visual design.

Liz Vernon's education history begins in 2003 when they enrolled at Florida State University. Liz completed their Bachelor's degree in Studio Art with a focus on Graphic Design in 2008. Apart from their formal education, Liz has also obtained several certifications. In 2015, they acquired Certificates in Design Principles: an Introduction and Human-Centered Design: an Introduction from Coursera. Two years later, in 2016, they earned a Certificate in Social Computing. Most recently, Liz has obtained several certifications from LinkedIn, including Leading at a Distance, Cybersecurity at Work, Goal Setting: Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), Communicating about Culturally Sensitive Issues, and Confronting Bias: Thriving Across Our Differences.
