Pat Fitzgerald has a diverse work experience in journalism and editing. Starting in 1995, Fitzgerald successfully started and managed a weekly newspaper, the Taney County Times, before selling the business in 1999. Pat went on to work as an Assistant City Editor and WaterLine Editor at The Charlotte Sun from 2000 to 2003. Fitzgerald then worked as an Assistant News Editor at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette from 2003 to 2007, where their responsibilities included editing daily business and news articles. Pat also played a key role in transitioning the copy desk to InDesign CS. From 2007 to 2011, Fitzgerald worked at The Daily Progress as a News Editor, Copy Desk Chief, Contract Night Editor, and Freelance Writer. During this time, they also took on the role of Editor at the Greene County Record, where they earned a Virginia School Boards Association Media Honor Roll award for their coverage of local schools. In 2020, Fitzgerald became the Interim Editor at The Culpeper Times, where they covered a wide range of issues including COVID-19 and Black Lives Matter protests, while also producing business and feature stories. Currently, Fitzgerald works at Brandon Hall Group as a Content and Community Coordinator, where they are responsible for editing, reformatting, and rewriting case studies and other assets.
Pat Fitzgerald obtained a high school diploma from Frank W. Cox High School in 1984. Following this, from 1984 to 1988, Pat attended Radford University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism.
