Jiahan Xie

Jiahan Xie is a highly experienced professional in the field of chemical engineering and catalysis, currently serving as the BioProcess Catalysis Team Leader and Research Engineer Specialist at Braskem America since May 2019. Responsibilities include establishing a new team and lab focused on catalysis research for renewable chemicals, developing catalytic processes that enhance plastic circularity, and supporting carbon neutrality. Jiahan Xie also serves as the Secretary-Elect for the Pittsburgh Section of the American Chemical Society. Previous roles include postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, and graduate research assistant at CBiRC, contributing to the development of catalysts and process optimization. Educational qualifications encompass a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, along with prior degrees from the University of Virginia and Peking University.
