Tavares is also President of Tavares Associates, Inc., providing consulting services in international development and human rights. Experience includes prestigious roles at the United Nations, including Roster Memberships for Principal Civil Affairs Officer and Director of Public Information. Previously, Tavares held positions such as Interim Executive Coordinator for Every Woman Every Child and United Nations Representative for UN Women in various regions, implementing impactful programs related to gender equity and legal reforms. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Education from Harvard and a Bachelor's degree from Yale University.
