William "Bill" Gates is an American business magnate, software developer, and philanthropist. Bill is the co-founder of Microsoft Corporation. During their career at Microsoft, Gates held the positions of chairman, CEO and chief software architect, while also being the largest individual shareholder until May 2014. Bill is one of the best-known entrepreneurs of the personal computer revolution. Later in their career and since leaving Microsoft, Gates pursued a number of philanthropic endeavors. Bill donated large amounts of money to various charitable organizations and scientific research programs through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, reported to be the world's largest private charity.

Bill Gates started their educational career at the Council on Foundations where they earned a Corporate Philanthropy and Ethics Certificate Program. Bill then went on to RETOOL at the University of Colorado Boulder - Leeds School of Business where they earned an Advanced Energy Systems Certificate. After that, they attended DePaul University's College of Financial Planning. Finally, they completed their education at the University of Colorado Boulder where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Finance.
