Manager, Partnerships at Breakthrough Energy

Sandra is a Manager in the Partnerships team where she is responsible for building productive and collaborative relationships with corporate, philanthropic, investment, and other public and private partners, primarily in the Americas region. Sandra brings a decade of experience in innovative energy technologies, decarbonization and international development.

Prior to joining Breakthrough Energy, Sandra was the Director of Partnerships at Powerhouse, an energy innovation firm focused in clean energy, mobility, and climate. She has also worked in building and operationalizing the Energy Storage Partnership (ESP) with the World Bank’s Energy Management Assistance Program and the Global Geothermal Alliance (GGA) with the International Renewable Energy Agency. Previously she has worked in consulting with Tetra Tech, policy networks with REN21, and the Mexican Solar Industry Association, among others. A Renewable Energy Engineer by training, Sandra has certifications in Power Sector Regulation, Climate and Renewable Energy Finance and Disruptive Strategy.

She lives with her husband Troy in the Bay Area, California. Outside of work, she loves spending time outdoors (rowing, biking, or exploring new hikes) and experimenting with cooking recipes to give them a Mexican flair. She also has a flowering passion for gardening.
