Yu-Chuan Chien

Yu-Chuan Chien has a strong background in battery technologies, with experience as a Senior Battery Engineer at Breathe Battery Technologies since November 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a PhD student at Uppsala University from August 2017 to November 2021, focusing on the development of electrochemical methods and operando characterization techniques for Li-S and Li-ion batteries. They also have intern experience at Bosch, EJOT Taiwan Branch, and Neo Solar Power Corp. They worked as a research assistant at RWTH Aachen University and National Taiwan University, where their research focused on topics such as phase transformations and the effect of Mo on the precipitation hardening of NbC in low-carbon steels.

Yu-Chuan Chien completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Materials Science and Engineering at National Taiwan University from 2009 to 2013. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Metallurgical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University from 2014 to 2017. Currently, they are working towards obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Chemistry at Uppsala University, a program that is expected to be completed in 2021.
