Rachel Levinson-Waldman is a seasoned attorney with extensive experience in civil rights and national security law. Currently serving as Managing Director at the Brennan Center for Justice since January 2012, Levinson-Waldman's roles have included Deputy Director and Senior Counsel within the Liberty & National Security Program. Prior to this, Levinson-Waldman was Anna Axford Fellow in Public Policy at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand and held positions as Senior Counsel and Counsel at the American Association of University Professors. Earlier experience includes serving as Trial Attorney in the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice and as a law clerk for Judge M. Margaret McKeown. Levinson-Waldman earned a JD from the University of Chicago Law School and a BA in Religion from Williams College, supplemented by a year abroad studying Hebrew and Middle Eastern studies at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
