Hasitha Dewundara

Hasitha Dewundara has a diverse background in database administration and technology engineering. They started their career as a Software Engineer at Total Esolutions Pvt Limited in 2011. They then joined Virtusa as an Engineer - Technology in 2012. Hasitha later transitioned to Pearson, where they served as an Associate Database Administrator, Database Administrator, and Senior Database Administrator from 2012 to 2019. During their tenure at Pearson, they managed large, mission-critical databases and ensured the stability of MongoDB and Cassandra clusters worldwide. In 2019, Hasitha joined Brevo as a Senior Database Administrator and currently holds the position of Lead Database Administrator. In this role, they lead a team of professionals, ensure operational excellence, enforce best practices, and maintain a high level of security for the database platform.

Hasitha Dewundara completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science (PG Dip) with a focus on Data Science, Analytics, and Engineering at the University of Moratuwa from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Information Technology from SLIIT, spanning from 2008 to 2011. Additionally, they have acquired several certifications in various fields, including Google Kubernetes Engine and Google Cloud Infrastructure from Coursera, MongoDB certifications, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management, and Microsoft certifications in SQL Server and Querying Microsoft SQL Server.
