Julie Ply

Julie Ply has a diverse work experience in various engineering and management roles. Julie started their career in 1989 as a Metallurgical Engineer and Lab Manager at Spartan Light Metal Products, where they improved molten metal cleanliness and provided customer service to major automotive clients. Julie then worked as a Process Development Engineer at Golden Aluminum, optimizing metal cleanliness and implementing process improvements for continuous block cast aluminum can stock.

In 1997, they joined Advanced Forming Technology as a Compounding Manager, Advanced Development Engineer, and Metallurgical Lab Manager, where they implemented compounding process improvements and developed raw material specifications. Julie later moved to Ace Manufacturing & Parts Company as a Powdered Metals Manager/Engineer, where they managed the development and production of powdered metal friction materials and directed the development of new product lines.

From 2005 to 2013, Julie worked at Detroit Tool Metal Products as a Director of Engineering and Continuous Improvement, where they directed manufacturing engineering, new product launch, and quality engineering teams. Julie implemented a Quality Management System and achieved ISO/TS 16949:2009 certification.

In 2013, they joined GMP Metal Products as a Director of Engineering and Continuous Improvement, leading engineering and quality teams for a metal fabricating organization with multiple locations.

Currently, Julie is working at Brewer Science, starting in 2014. Julie has held multiple roles at the company, including Executive Director of Sales Operations and Executive Director of Global Quality.

Throughout their career, Julie has demonstrated a strong focus on quality control, process improvement, and leadership in various manufacturing environments.

Julie Ply obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, attending from 1984 to 1988.
