Derek Cairney has been working at Waterloo Brewing since November 2009, starting as Director of Packaging. Over the years, Derek has progressed within the company and currently holds the position of Director of Maintenance. In February 2021, Derek transitioned into the role of Maintenance Reliability Specialist, demonstrating their expertise in maintaining and improving the company's operations. Their extensive experience within the brewing industry has been valuable in contributing to the success of Waterloo Brewing.

Founded in 1984, Waterloo Brewing was the first craft brewery to start up in Ontario and is credited with pioneering the present-day craft brewing renaissance in Canada.
