Steven Edwards

Steven Edwards is currently the Chief Investment Officer at Bricklane. Prior to that, they were a Partner at Ares Management from January 2014 to January 2016. There, they led ARES's first time entrance into the European commercial real estate debt investment market. Steven also developed a business plan for European stretch senior and mezzanine debt investments. In 2014, they sourced more than $3 billion in high yield senior debt investments. Steven later expanded their investment remit to include participating mezzanine debt and preferred equity investments, performing and non-performing loan portfolios. To date, their mezzanine debt/preferred equity investments have exceeded $250 million across Europe.

In 2015, Steven was responsible for leading the bid on a £900 million portfolio of UK performing commercial real estate loans. The following year, they successfully secured exclusivity on a €127 million distressed Italian real estate credit portfolio of 84 non-performing loans with an IRR of 15%.

Steven's experience in the financial sector spans over two decades. Before joining Ares Management, they were with Saranac Partners. Earlier in their career, they worked at QUALCO where they gained valuable experience in the industry.

Steven Edwards pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Government as well as Economics from Cornell University.
