Joel Kurth is an experienced journalist with a tenure as Executive Editor at The Center For Michigan | Bridge Magazine since March 2017. Prior to this role, Joel Kurth served in various editorial capacities at The Detroit News from March 2000 to February 2017, including Investigations and Projects Editor, City Hall Editor, Wayne County Bureau Chief, and Enterprise Reporter. Joel Kurth's investigative work garnered awards for its depth, covering issues such as public corruption and systemic inequities. Joel Kurth also played a key role in the publication's redesign and was known for the popular City Hall Insider blog during a significant period in Detroit's history. Earlier experience includes reporting for Saginaw News from 1995 to 2000. Joel Kurth holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Northeastern University.
