Erik Ellis is an experienced energy industry professional with a diverse background in management and project development. Currently serving as Vice President at BrightNight since August 2020 and as Founder and Principal at Green Machine Power, Erik focuses on innovative storage applications in the utility and independent power producer markets. Previously, Erik held the position of Manager of Technology Assessment at Arizona Public Service, where responsibilities included investigating new technologies and securing funding for projects. Erik also contributed as Director of Utility Scale Solar at EDF Renewable Energy, negotiating significant solar module supply contracts, and held leadership roles at Ausra, First Solar, Stirling Energy Systems, and GE Energy, where expertise ranged from commercial operations to wind development. Erik holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and has undergone executive education at GE Crotonville.
