Patty Guerrero

Patty Guerrero has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Patty started their career in 2002 with Cottage Health System as a Lab Assistant, where they performed various laboratory tasks and venipunctures in different departments of the hospital. Patty then worked at Quest Diagnostics as a Lab Technician/Specimen Processor, collecting and preparing blood samples for testing, while also handling front desk and insurance billing duties.

In 2010, Patty joined the County of Santa Barbara as an Eligibility Worker II. Their responsibilities included interviewing clients and determining their eligibility for various assistance programs. Patty also maintained client case files and ensured compliance with policies and procedures. In 2020, Patty was promoted to Eligibility Lead Worker III, where they continued to interview clients for eligibility and served as a liaison for Cottage Hospital.

During their time at the County of Santa Barbara, Patty also worked in special COVID-related work sites, such as Room key South, assisting homeless individuals with their assistance applications. In addition, they worked at other outstation sites, including a homeless shelter and probation department, Santa Barbara County Jail, and Behavioral Wellness.

In 2020, Patty joined BrightStar Care as a Certified Home Health Aide, providing care and assistance to elderly, disabled, and hospice/skilled nursing clients. Their duties included companionship, light housekeeping, meal preparation, as well as skilled services like dressing, hygiene, and safety supervision. Patty also collaborated closely with facility staff to monitor clients' health conditions.

Most recently, in May 2022, Patty became a Patient Access Supervisor at Cottage Health, where they will oversee patient access operations.

Patty also attended Ventura College and earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in both Psychology and Anthropology, completing in 2021 and 2022 respectively. In 2013, they obtained an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Behavioral Sciences and Social Sciences from Santa Barbara City College. Additionally, Guerrero attended various certificate programs, including the Women in Leadership Certificate Program at Antioch University in 2021, the Cottage Hospital Lab Technician Program in 2002 for Phlebotomy Technician/Phlebotomist, the Academy of Dental Assisting in 2010 for Dental Assisting, and Dental Advantage in 2010 for a Dental X-Ray License.
