Scott Coursey, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Scott started their career as a Wellness Coordinator at Southwestern Public Service from 1991 to 1996. From 1997 to 2000, they worked at Xcel Energy as an HR Consultant, where they administered various HR functions and implemented new staffing and performance management processes.
After that, they joined Panhandle Presort Services, LLC, where they served as the General Manager & VP for over 10 years. During their tenure, they significantly increased sales and customer base through product development and expansion into new locations.
In 2011, Scott Coursey joined Herring Bank as VP, HR Director. Here, they played a crucial role in recruiting executive-level positions and implemented cost-saving measures that resulted in saving $1.8 million annually.
From 2015 to 2020, they ventured into self-employment as an Owner/Operator before taking up the position of Director of Human Resources at BrightStar Care in 2020. Currently, they are also a Franchise Owner at Sand R Co dba Filta Environmental Kitchen Solutions.
Scott Coursey, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, obtained their Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Texas Tech University, where they studied from 1981 to 1985. Scott then pursued further education and earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Psychology, Sociology & Communication from West Texas A&M University, attending from 1993 to 1995.
In addition to their academic achievements, Scott Coursey has obtained several certifications from SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management). In December 2013, they obtained their SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certification. Scott further enhanced their professional credentials in February 2015 by achieving the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification, which is also awarded by SHRM.
