Laura Carpenter

Laura Carpenter has extensive work experience, beginning in 2013 when they started as a Recreation Leader I at Livermore Area Recreation and Parks District. Laura was promoted to Recreation Leader II in 2014 and to Recreation Coordinator in 2016, a position they held seasonally from June-August 2016 and 2017. In 2017, they worked as a Shift Supervisor at Outdoor World, Inc., where they attended the store register, created and organized displays, unboxed and transferred merchandise, and assisted customers. In 2018, they worked as a Sales Associate at Rip Curl, educating customers on various wet suit and surfing technology. Laura also worked as a Social Psychology Research Assistant at the University of California and a Childcare Provider at Care.com, where they managed scheduling and pricing. In 2020, Laura took on the role of Aftercare Director & Teaching Assistant at Contra Costa Jewish Day School. Currently, they are a Customer Engagement Specialist at brightwheel.

Laura Carpenter obtained a Bachelor's degree in Intensive Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2019. Laura also obtained a minor in Film and Digital Media from the same university between 2015 and 2019. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz between 2015 and 2018. In 2020, they obtained a Responsive Classroom: Elementary Core Course certification from the Center for Responsive Schools. In 2021, they obtained a CPR/AED/First Aid certification from Lifesaver CPR. In 2018, they obtained a Group 1: Human Subjects Researchers-Social, Behavioral, and Economic certification from the CITI Program.
