Michael Watkins

Michael Watkins has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Michael started their career at GSK, where they held various positions, including Director of Clinical Development and Manager of Clinical Development. In these roles, they led clinical teams and managed clinical trials and programs for respiratory clinical development. Michael ensured successful execution and completion of clinical trials and collaborated with empowered teams. Michael also contributed to regulatory submissions and authored scientific communications. In 2019, Watkins joined Brii BioSciences as the Senior Director and later promoted to Vice President of Clinical Operations and Sciences. In these roles, they managed clinical operations and medical writing, led teams in IND submissions and Emergency Use Authorization, and represented the company at FDA meetings. Michael also coordinated with external asset partners and ensured the timely delivery of high-quality outcomes. Watkins has demonstrated expertise in clinical operations, medical writing, and strategic management throughout their career.

Michael Watkins has a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Michael then obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the same institution between 1995 and 1999. Following that, they pursued a Post-doc Research Fellowship in Cardiology and Respiratory Drug Development at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1999 to 2001. Additionally, they also obtained a Pharmacy License from the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy in December 1999.
