Michael X. Zhang

Michael X. Zhang has over two decades of work experience in various roles within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Michael X. currently holds the position of Vice President and Head of IT and Data Sciences at Brii Biosciences, a role they began in June 2021. Prior to this, they spent over ten years at Gilead Sciences, where they held multiple positions including Associate Director/Director/Sr. Director in Clinical and Development Operations. Michael X. also served as the Sr. Research Scientist and Head of Research Informatics from 2006 to 2010, and as Sr. IT Specialist and Research Scientist II from 2001 to 2006. Before joining Gilead Sciences, they worked as a Sr. Consultant at Breakaway Solutions and as a Project Developer/Programmer/Analyst at Click Commerce/First Chair Technology/Mantiss. Michael X. began their professional career as an Analyst at Argus Financial and also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Houston.

Michael X. Zhang holds an MBA in Business Administration from Golden Gate University, a B.S. in Applied Chemistry from Peking University, and a Ph.D in Organic Chemistry from the University of Houston.
