Benjamin Shalva

Benjamin Shalva serves as the Manager of Jewish Care, Support, and Rabbinic Services and Chaplain at Gilchrist since May 2022. Additionally, Benjamin has been an author at Brilliance Publishing and the project titled "Spiritual Cross-Training: Searching through Silence, Stretch, and Song" since 2016 and 2015, respectively. As a Service and Song Leader for Bet Mishpachah, Benjamin leads musical services in Washington, D.C. Previous roles include Jewish Educator and Service Leader at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue, Yoga & Meditation Instructor at the Jewish Mindfulness Center of Washington, and Jewish Educator and Song Leader at Adas Israel Congregation. Benjamin has also provided rabbinic chaplaincy services at the Jewish Social Service Agency and served as Rabbi for High Holidays at the University of Vermont. Educationally, Benjamin holds a Rabbinic Ordination and Master's in Hebrew Letters from The Jewish Theological Seminary, a Certificate in Physical Theatre from Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre, and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Vassar College.
