Marcelo De Oliveira

Vice President Materials science and Geology at Brimstone Energy

Marcelo De Oliveira has a long and varied work experience. Marcelo began their career in 2005 as a Field Geologist with Newmont Corporation. Marcelo then moved to Serviço Geológico do Brasil - CPRM, where they worked as a Geologist from 2005 to 2009. In 2009, they joined the Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado do Pará as a Senior Research. From 2011 to 2020, they worked at Advanced Potash Technologies as Chief Technical Officer, Chief Geologist, and Exploration Manager. Most recently, in 2020, they joined Brimstone as Vice President Materials Science and Geology, where they are working to build a new foundation for the climate era.

Marcelo De Oliveira has a comprehensive educational background. In 1998, they earned a degree in Geology and Sciences of the Earth/Geosciences from the Universidade Federal do Pará. Marcelo then proceeded to earn a Master of Science in Geology and Sciences of the Earth/Geosciences from the same university in 2003. In 2005, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Geochemistry and Petrology from the same university. Marcelo then went on to complete a Post Doctoral in Experimental Petrology from the Université d'Orléans in 2010. Finally, they completed a Post Doctoral in Materials Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2018. In the same year, they also obtained an Executive Certificate in Management and Leadership from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
