Larry Ruane

Lawrence Ruane is an experienced software developer and engineer with a strong background in storage systems and blockchain technology. Currently a Bitcoin Core software developer at Brink.dev since June 2021, Ruane has also been contributing as a software engineer at Electric Coin Company since April 2018. Prior positions include senior software developer roles at NetApp SolidFire and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where extensive work on distributed block-level iSCSI storage was performed. Ruane began their career at LeftHand Networks in 2006, focusing on SAN/IQ software, until its acquisition by Hewlett-Packard in 2008. Earlier experience includes software development roles at Seagate, EMC, CrossStor, Sun Microsystems, and Bell Labs, involving various storage technologies and systems. Ruane holds both a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
