Chirag Patel, MD, is a seasoned scientist with extensive experience in drug discovery and cancer research. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Bristol Myers Squibb since September 2016, Chirag focuses on autoimmunity and immuno-oncology drug development. Previously, as a Sr. Principal Researcher at Eisai US from 2010 to 2016, significant contributions were made in investigating cancer target biology and developing therapeutic monoclonal antibodies. Earlier roles at Merck involved discovering monoclonal antibodies with enhanced clinical tolerability, and as a Research Fellow at Thomas Jefferson University, Chirag generated small molecule compounds for gastrointestinal motility disorders and identified tumorigenic protein interactions. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology from Long Island University and an MBBS from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
