Tessa Watson is a Principal Lecturer and Music Therapy Programme Convenor at the University of Roehampton since 2000, previously leading the Arts and Play Therapies programmes and awarded Fellowship in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education for 2005-2006. As an Editor for the British Journal of Music Therapy since 2013, Tessa collaborates with a team to manage content and facilitated the transition to online publishing in 2016. Tessa serves as a CPD assessor for the Health and Care Professions Council and holds the position of International Officer and Country Representative for the British Association for Music Therapy, advancing the profession in the UK and representing the country within the European Music Therapy Confederation. With 22 years of clinical experience in the NHS as a Principal Arts Therapist and previous roles as a Music Therapist in forensic psychiatry, Tessa possesses extensive expertise in the field. Tessa holds a Master's degree in Music Therapy, a BA Honours in Music and Dance, and a PGCE in Higher Education from the University of Roehampton and Roehampton Institute.
