P.eng Sean Richards

Sean Richards, P.Eng, PMP, is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in project management and regulatory engineering within the energy sector. Currently serving as a Regulatory Engineer at the British Columbia Utilities Commission since 2021, Sean's role involves analyzing public utility regulations and managing stakeholder consultations. Previously, Sean was the President and Senior Project Manager of Richards Energy Consulting Group, overseeing various aspects of project management for oil and gas producers. Other notable roles include Senior Project Engineer positions at Canada Kuwait Petrochemical Corporation and PetroChina Canada, where Sean managed engineering deliverables for large-scale SAGD plants, and Senior Facilities Engineer at Enerplus Resources, responsible for projects valued at $20 million annually. Sean’s professional foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary and the University of Alberta, along with Project Management Professional Certification from the Institute of Project Management.
