Richard Thomas

Richard Thomas is the current Chief Financial Officer at the British Council. Richard has previously served as the Director of Strategic Finance at South West London Health and Care Partnership, the Chief Financial Officer at Richmond CCG, and the Chief Operating Officer at BBC World Service Group. At BBC News, they were the finance director for a £300 million turnover division of the BBC. Richard has also served as the finance director for British Pathe plc.

Richard Thomas' educational career began at Sherborne School. Richard then went on to The University of Manchester where they studied Richard'story and received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. After graduation, Richard Thomas obtained certification from ICAEW as a Chartered Accountant.

Richard Thomas reports to Kate Ewart-Biggs, Interim Chief Executive. Richard Thomas works with Charlie Walker - Director Global Network, Andrew Horton - Director Digital, Partnerships and Innovation, and Mark Walker - Director of Transformation.
