Jay Roper has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in sports organizations. Jay is currently the Director of Learning and Development at British Gymnastics, as well as an Independent Member of the Performance Advisory Group at Archery GB. In the past, they have served as a member of the Professional Development Board and Chair of the Professional Development Committee at CIMSPA. Jay has also worked as a Contractor/Consultant at Limitless Peak and held coaching positions at UK Sport, Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday Football Club, and Sheffield United Football Club. Additionally, they have worked as the Vocational Education Lead and Curriculum, Learning Design and Development Coordinator at The Football Association and as the Qualifications Development Manager at 1st4sport Qualifications. Jay's work experience also includes a role as a Talent Reporter at Sheffield United Football Club.

Jay Roper completed their education in a concise and detailed manner. Jay obtained a BSc degree in Physical Education and Youth Sport from Sheffield Hallam University, graduating in 2009. In 2010, they pursued further education and earned an MSc degree in Leadership and Management from the same institution, concluding their studies in 2012. Continuing their educational journey, Jay completed a PG Certificate in Sports Coaching at the University of Worcester from 2017 to 2019.
