Sarah Powell

Sarah Powell has a diverse work experience in the sports industry. Sarah has held various leadership roles, including Chief Executive at British Gymnastics since 2021 and Chief Executive at Sport Wales from 2013 to 2021. Sarah also served as a Member Board of Trustees at parkrun starting in 2023. In addition, Sarah has been involved in several non-executive and board member positions, including at the Commonwealth Games Council for Wales and 2010 Ryder Cup Wales Limited. Sarah has a background as an international hockey player, representing Wales from 1986 to 1998.

Sarah Powell graduated from Swansea University with a BSC in Psychology in 1994. From 1994 to 1995, they attended the University Wales Institute Cardiff, where they obtained a PGCE in Secondary Education and Teaching. Prior to their university studies, Sarah attended Porthcawl Comprehensive from 1984 to 1991. Sarah also returned to Swansea University at some point to pursue another BSC in Psychology.
