Joana dos Reis, PhD, has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Joana is currently an Investment Manager in the life sciences funds team at British Patient Capital, where they evaluate and makes new venture and venture growth fund life sciences investments. Joana also manages the BPC portfolio of investments and supports the overall activities of the organization.

Joana dos Reis, PhD, has an extensive education history in the fields of biochemical engineering and biological/biosystems engineering. Joana obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemical Engineering from UCL, where they studied from 2014 to 2019. Prior to that, they completed a Master's Degree in Biological/Biosystems Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, where they studied from 2009 to 2014. Before their master's degree, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biological/Biosystems Engineering Sciences from the same institution, studying from 2009 to 2012.
Joana'ssecondary education was completed at Escola Secundária Professor Reynaldo dos Santos from 2006 to 2009, where they received their Ensino Secundário degree in Ciências e Tecnologias.

Furthermore, in February 2015, they obtained the certification for "Safe Decanting of Liquid Nitrogen" from Gas Safe Consultants Limited.
