Ben Cummings has a diverse work experience in the field of sports and communications. Ben began their career as a Consultant with Mandate Communications, where they played a key role in the sports consultancy division. During this time, they formulated and managed public affairs and stakeholder engagement strategies for various governing bodies and events, including London 2012.
Afterwards, Cummings joined the International Cricket Council as a Centenary Project Manager. In this unique role, they managed activities aimed at celebrating the heritage and spirit of cricket worldwide. Ben also launched social responsibility partnerships and sport for development programs, using cricket to educate young people about HIV prevention and reintegrate young soldiers back into the community with sports leadership skills.
Cummings then moved to WSM Communications, a leading sports agency, where they held the positions of Senior Account Manager and later, Account Director. Ben developed and managed strategic sport partnerships between corporate brands and governing bodies, teams, athletes, and charitable organizations. Ben'sresponsibilities included strategy development, delivery, activation planning, and roll out of major partnerships.
In 2016, Cummings joined Columbia Threadneedle Investments EMEA APAC as the Head of Sponsorship and Events. Ben managed a global sponsorship strategy, overseeing partnerships, cross-functional teams, and a portfolio that included triathlon sponsorships, art sponsorships, financial trade partnerships, and internal leadership conferences. Ben was recognized as a trusted leader and influencer in triathlon and mass participation sports.
Currently, Cummings holds the position of Director of Partnerships, Commercial & External Affairs at the British Triathlon Federation. Ben assumed this role in July 2021, after serving as the Director of Commercial and Major Events since September 2018.
Ben Cummings completed their A Levels from Therfied School in 2001. Ben'sareas of study included History, Politics, Sport Studies, and General Studies. From 2001 to 2004, they pursued a First BA (Hons) degree in Politics at the University of Nottingham. During this time, they focused on subjects such as International Relations, International Development, and Political Theories.
