Alexis Burns

Alexis Burns has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Alexis began their career as a Legal Intern at the U.S. Department of Education, where they interviewed complainants and drafted various legal documents. Alexis then interned at the United States Attorney's Office, where they worked in the Criminal Division and was responsible for drafting motions and conducting legal research. Alexis also gained experience as a Judicial Intern at Magistrate Judge Dein, where they performed cite checking, drafted decisions, and wrote legal memoranda. Alexis further enhanced their legal skills as a Legal Intern at the Women's Bar Foundation Family Law Project, conducting research and writing legal memoranda on child custody and restraining orders. Alexis is currently working as a Manager of Risk Management at Brixmor Property Group, where they settle general liability and property damage claims and collaborates with in-house counsel on ADA litigation.

Alexis Burns completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Public Policy at UC San Diego in 2011. Subsequently, they attended Northeastern University School of Law, where they obtained their Juris Doctor degree from 2011 to 2014. Prior to their Bachelor's degree, they also pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at UC San Diego.
